Fermenta is one of the largest manufacturers of Vitamin D3 and a key global player. Headquartered in Thane, India, Fermenta caters to clientele across the globe, with a worldwide distribution network. Apart from Vitamin D3, Fermenta also offers niche APIs, integrated biotechnology platforms such as enzymes for antibiotic synthesis as well as environmental solutions for waste water management and treatment.
Fermenta needed a new SAP HANA Infrastructure and VMware infrastructure which would serve fast production data and flexibility to access from anywhere through secure tunnels. SAP HANA is a high-performance in-memory database that speeds data-driven, real-time decisions and actions. The infrastructure is hosted in ESDS Datacenter-Mumbai.
What Creative infotech suggested:
The SAP HANA infrastructure Integrates data from across the enterprise, enabling faster decisions based on live data. We had implemented physical and virtualized infrastructure using VMWare hypervisor and SLES SAP Edition Linux.,
2xPhysical Appliance for Production under the SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP Edition with OS Cluster,
2xVMWare HA Node withHPE DL380 Gen9which are direct connect to HPE MSA 2040 SAN for their workloads.
1xSAN Storage for all Application Layer Workload
2xNetwork Switch for Server connectivity
Production Layer: two Production Appliances are running in SLES ENT SAP Edition with OS Cluster, which is give High-Availability when one server goes Failed
Application Layer: Two VMware Server Appliance are running with vSphere 6.5 with shared SAN Storage under the High Availability Cluster which managed by vCenter Virtual Appliance.
How our solutions helped the client:
It enhanced the ease of customers. With the new infrastructure it was possible for the client to access secure information from anywhere onsite. We set up a very simplified setup and configuration of new server deployment. Effortless management of their entire infrastructure. This also led to a fully functional and automated production which was an initial need of the client. A fully secured DC site for customers.
Site Challenges:
Site having one of the SAP HANA Developer Vender, so we have to tune-up together as coming multiple configuration and patching as they required for their SAP HANA Develop and customization.

Business Benefits
Virtual infrastructures make better use of hardware resources because each virtual machine can take and use what it needs, when it needs it. While some machines are active, others will be in downtime or low-use phases. This translates to less resource wastage.By managing a virtual infrastructure, IT professionals can gain flexibility in systems and applications and have more time to help develop and drive key strategic initiatives for the business.
